Published for professionals in the field of osteopathy and manual medicine, the journal will be of interest for other specialists as well.
1. General statements
1.1 This statement describes the procedure for the reviewing of manuscripts received by the editorial board of the scientific and practical edition "Russian Osteopathic Journal."
1.2 The statement concerning the reviewing institute of the scientific and practical edition "Russian Osteopathic Journal" is considered at the proceedings of the editorial board and approved by the chief editor.
2. Procedure for the manuscripts reviewing
2.1 All the articles transferred to the editors of the scientific and practical edition are reviewed by the reviewing institute.
2.2 The executive editor notifies the authors about the receipt of the article during three days.
2.3 The reviewer is selected by an executive secretary of the scientific and practical edition (by agreement with the editor) from the members of the editorial board or leading experts in the sphere which corresponds to the contents of the article.
2.4 Ways of article reviewing:
2.4.1. Reviewing in the editorial office of the scientific and practical edition “Russian Osteopathic Journal” in compliance with the paragraph 2.3. of the present Statement, according to the form represented in the annex №1;
2.4.2. Third party reviewing (the author encloses a third party review certified in an appropriate order; in this case the editors reserve the right of supplementary reviewing).
2.5 The deadline for writing the review is established in coordination with the reviewer, but should not exceed two weeks.
2.6 The review should cover: correspondence of the contents of the article to its title, relevance of the material, the level of scientific novelty of the research. The review should define the correspondence of the text proposed for publication to the general profile of the edition, as well as the quality of the written reproduction (style, grammatical correctness, clarity of the tables, diagrams, illustrations and formulas).
2.7 The reviewer makes a conclusion about the possibility to publish the article: “is recommended”, “is recommended after the correction of the reviewer’s remarks” or “is not recommended”.
2.8 The review is certified according to the procedure established by the organization where the reviewer works.
2.9 If the review is positive the article is submitted to the proceedings of the editorial board in order to adopt a decision concerning the publication.
2.10 If the reviewer has remarks which demand authors’ participation, the article is sent to the author for correction.
2.11 The deadline for the author to make corrections shouldn’t exceed two weeks.
2.12 Corrected article is sent for the second review in order to make a conclusion about the possibility of publication. If the conclusion is positive the article is submitted to the proceedings of the editorial board for the final decision.
2.13 If the author considers all the reviewer’s remarks the article is not necessarily submitted to the second review, and the decision about its publication is made during the proceedings of the editorial board.
2.14 The editors have a right to make a scientific and literary editing of the article.
2.15 The article which the reviewer doesn’t recommend for publication is not considered for the second time.
2.16 The reviewing is held in a confidential manner. If the decision is negative, the motivated refusal in publication is sent to the author. This refusal must be authenticated by the chief editor or by his deputy.
2.17 After the editorial board makes a decision to publish the article, the executive secretary informs the author and gives a time frame for publication.
2.18 The contents of each issue of the scientific and practical edition “Russian Osteopathic Journal” is validated during the proceedings of the editorial board. The decision about the publication of each article is made in respect of the reviewers’ opinion.
2.19 The original reviews are kept in the editorial office of the scientific and practical edition “Russian Osteopathic Journal” during 5 years.
2.20 The review is available upon the request letter, written by the author or by the expert council of the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles. The review is available without signature and without the reviewer’s name, title and place of work.
